Issue
Uncertainty about effective infection prevention measures for COVID-19.
When the COVID-19 pandemic began spreading in Japan in early 2021, many tourists believed in incorrect infection prevention measures. At the same time, those in the tourism industry faced challenges in providing safe and secure travel environments, preventing them from resuming operations.
Approach
Creating guidelines to ensure a safe travel environment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
By leveraging the expertise of Japanese specialists in infectious diseases, architecture, and tourism, and drawing inspiration from international guidelines, we developed a structured “new lifestyle” framework. The resulting guideline, “Dos and Don’ts of COVID-19 Prevention,” was distributed to numerous Japanese companies and municipalities to support the tourism industry.
