Issue
There is a lack of progress in applying research findings on extending healthy life expectancy to real-world societal practices.
To address the global challenge of extending healthy life expectancy, recent research in digital health has focused on vital data sensing. However, the societal implementation of such technologies requires advanced expertise in both medicine and engineering, and many projects fail to materialize.
Approach
Producing collaborative research between international research institutions and domestic companies.
Believing that developing and expanding an “early detection” system internationally could contribute to global health, we gained support for the concept from top-tier overseas universities with advanced “med-tech collaboration” research institutions and produced a joint research project with Japanese housing manufacturers.
Following the start of the joint research, we worked to overcome cultural and contextual barriers, fostering alignment and supporting the research’s progress.
