Issue
The rising social security costs in Japan.
With an aging population, Japan’s social security costs, including medical and long-term care expenses, continue to rise. These costs can no longer be covered solely by insurance premiums, leading to heavy reliance on debt and passing the burden onto future generations.
Approach
Focusing not on individuals but on shaping communities and society as a whole
Recognizing the importance of “primordial prevention,” which emphasizes creating environments that naturally provide healthcare access and promote healthy lifestyles, we developed a simulator to calculate the social security cost reduction effects of local environments, assisting municipalities in making effective decisions.
