Issue
The fire hazard predicted to cause damage exceeding that of a tsunami.
The Nankai Trough Earthquake, which has occurred at intervals of 100 to 150 years, is becoming increasingly imminent, as over 70 years have passed since the last occurrence. Similar to a major earthquake directly under Tokyo, extensive damage is anticipated, with approximately 80% of it attributed to fires and subsequent spread.
Approach
Development of a network system using drones.
To enable early fire detection in the event of a disaster, we collaborated with vendors to develop a drone-based aerial surveillance network system. By introducing this system to municipalities, it also facilitates new business opportunities through the use of aerial data, such as infrastructure maintenance during normal operations.
