Realization of disaster prevention and mitigation solutions for catastrophic disasters.

In Japan, where various disasters such as earthquakes, tsunami, and heavy rains occur, there is an increasing need for “disaster prevention and mitigation” for catastrophic disasters, including earthquakes directly under the Tokyo metropolitan area.
We study the mechanisms of disaster occurrence and the damage chain, determine what kinds of measures are effective against which damage, and then aim to develop, verify, and implement advanced solutions to achieve these goals.
